Oak Farm Primary School has been an Associate Member of Vanguard Learning Trust (VLT) since 2023. In 2025, the Department for Education approved that Oak Farm could become an academy school within VLT. The Governing Body undertook consultation during November 2025 about the proposal to join VLT, as required by the Academies Act. A summary of the consultation process and the responses received is available on this page. 

After considering the full range of information, including the consultation responses, the Governing Body make the decision in December 2025 that Oak Farm would become an academy school within VLT. The anticipated date of joining VLT is 1 April 2026. 

The Governing Body unanimously believes that joining VLT provides the most secure way to sustainably improve the school. We are excited about the future! 

As part of joining VLT, the school name, school uniform, and timings of the school day will not change. The same staff will continue to teach and care for the pupils at Oak Farm.
